On-line Training

On-line training is a quick and convenient way for Oklahoma resource parents to earn some of the 12 credits of continuing education which are required each year.

Continuing education is important to resource parents in order to learn and grow in their work with the children and young people in their home.

In order to assist Oklahoma resource parents in obtaining their continuing education credits, OKDHS has provided, free of charge, 6 credits each year of on-line training for each resource parent.

The free on-line training is produced by Foster Parent College. Each course is interactive, interesting, and only takes about 45 minutes to view. All courses offered through Foster Parent College provide 2 continuing education credits. After viewing the course, participants can send a certificate documenting their 2 continuing education credits directly to their Resource Specialist via e-mail, and then print a copy of their certificate for their own records.

Before choosing their first course, resource parents will need to register for this free training opportunity.

To register, each participant must have their own e-mail address.
If a couple shares the same e-mail address, one spouse will need to set up
an additional e-mail account. Free e-mail providers can be found by searching
the Internet, but if assistance is needed, please contact sfinik@ou.edu.
